About the process:
This original handmade sculpture was wood fired in a traditional Japanese-style anagama kiln. The kiln was fed with wood every five to ten minutes until it reached temperatures of 2300 Fahrenheit over the course of 100 hours. As the firing goes on, the wood ash settles on the pieces and melts into a ceramic glaze. This beast is one where I've experimented by mixing a colored stain into the porcelain. The result is the same wood fire effects, but with the colors tilted into a different spectrum. The color is especially responsive to wood ash.

About the piece: Blue Beast is occasionally assumed to be a dour beast. After all, it's right in his name. However, that's incorrect. While Blue appears melancholy, he's actually holding back a secret joke at most times. Just ask him.

About shipping:
Your beast will be sent out via USPS priority mail by December 7th, safely and securely heading your way. In case of overpayment for international shipping or multiple purchases, I'll refund the extra. Shipments to within the continental United States should arrive before December 25th, assuming the post office cooperates.
